What are swirls?
“Swirls” are the circular scratches you can see around the light in picture one. They are caused by unsafe washing methods. Every car that hasn't had a professional machine-polish has them. Swirls become very noticeable under any bright lights, especially direct sunlight. They also diminish the gloss of the paint by making it appear faded. Picture two shows a different panel of the same car after being machine-polished—swirl-free.
What is a ceramic coating?
“Ceramic coating” is a semi-permanent barrier between a vehicle and the outside elements. It can be applied to the paintwork, wheels, glass, and plastics. Being harder than clear coat, a ceramic-coating provides protection against light scratches, and its slickness makes it harder for dirt, dust, or liquids to cling to the vehicle, keeping it cleaner for longer and making maintenance a lot simpler.
